FarmVille Lighthouse Cove Chapter 4 Goals: Everything you need to know

Continuing in the saga of the Lighthouse Cove in FarmVille, we've seen the launch of Chapter 4 in the story, along with three goals to get you started. These goals bring in a bit of Halloween fun with the appearance of Candy Corn and themed decorations, but as usual, your progress is being timed. You'll only have two weeks to complete these goals, and while that shouldn't be a problem, here's a guide to completing the three of them for sure.

A History of Fun!

    Get 3 Candy Corn
    Harvest Lighthouse Cove
    Make Fruit Cider Twice

Candy Corn can be gathered by posted a general request on your news feed for all of your friends to respond to. As for the Fruit Cider, this recipe is made inside your Restaurant using two Cove Cranberry, three Red Currant and three Lady Slipper bushels each. You'll need to wait six hours for these to finish crafting, so that gives you a bit of time to wait for your Lighthouse Cove to become ready to harvest (that happens once per day). For finishing this first goal, you'll receive 100 XP, 2,500 coins and a Founder Sheep (dressed as a classic founding father from American history).

Sea Lion Search

    Get 3 Tasty Fishes
    Harvest 90 Cove Cranberries
    Improve the Cove to Level 4

If you've been vigilant about adding Stones, Steel Beams and Logs to the Lighthouse Cove ever since the farm launched, you're likely already well beyond Level 4. That being the case, this task will be completed for you, allowing you to simply post a wall post for the Tasty Fishes and wait the 24 hours for your Cove Cranberries to be ready (or, if you're planning ahead, you could have them mostly grown or ready to harvest by this point as well). Finish this second goal and you'll receive 200 XP, 2,500 coins and a Sea Lion for your efforts.

Heritage Days

    Get 3 Wrapped Candies
    Make Fruit Cider Twice
    Harvest 90 Chandler Blueberries

The Wrapped Candies are earned by asking your friends to send them to you, while the Fruit Cider takes the same bushels mentioned above: Red Currant, Cove Cranberry and Lady Slipper. As for the Chandler Blueberries, these ones take eight hours to grow. The rewards for this final goal are 300 XP, 2,500 coins and a spooky Mausoleum. This one may not necessarily scream Halloween, but when I think of Halloween, graveyards aren't so far behind, so I suppose it fits.

Once you've finished these three goals, you'll technically have completed Chapter 4, but there are always Bonus Challenges to complete as well. We'll have a guide for those harder goals (they aren't called "Challenges for nothing") as soon as we can.

What do you think of Chapter 4's goals? Do you appreciate their relative ease, or do you wish even they were more challenging?

FarmVille Lighthouse Cove Chapter 4 Bonus Challenges: Everything you need to know

As we told you earlier this evening, Zynga has continued in the new tradition of goals in the Lighthouse Cove in FarmVille, releasing three goals for Chapter 4 of the third farm's story, and then releasing a set of harder "Bonus Challenges" for those farmers that really like a challenge (or just want extra prizes). In terms of Bonus Challenges, these seem to be fairly simple (all things considered), as they won't require you to expand your land. Still, there are quite a few crafting requirements here that might slow you down depending on how far you've upgraded your restaurant, so perhaps it all balances out. Either way, here's a complete guide to completing these three Bonus Challenges for Chapter 4. Good luck!

Bonus Challenge 1

    Harvest 90 Cove Cranberries
    Make Wild Blueberry Pie Twice
    Improve the Cove to Level 5

If you've already passed Level 5 in repairing the Lighthouse Cove, this task will automatically be completed for you. Meanwhile, Wild Blueberry Pie is made inside your Restaurant using two Chandler Blueberry, three Wheat and two Rhubarb bushels each. Finally, Cove Cranberries take a full 24 hours to grow. Finish this first goal and you're given 500 XP, a German Shepherd (regular dog, not a puppy) and 2,500 coins.

Bonus Challenge 2

    Complete an Aviary
    Harvest Lighthouse ove
    Make Black Raspberry Wine Twice

If you don't already have an Aviary on your Lighthouse Cove specifically, you'll need to build one to complete this goal (remember, these goals will disappear when visiting other farms, so even if you have multiples on other farms, that simply won't count for this goal). Either way, you can make the Black Raspberry Wine with three Raspberry, two White Grape and three Chandler Blueberry bushels each. Finishing this second goal gives you 1,000 XP, a Sebright Chicken and 2,500 coins.

Bonus Challenge 3

    Harvest an Aviary
    Harvest 110 Kennebec Potatoes
    Make Dill Potato Skins Twice

Yet again, this one is about two things: birds and food. After you've built your Aviary for Bonus Challenge 2, waiting a day will see the building become ready to harvest, so long as you kept at least one bird inside it. You'll receive one for free, so just leave it in there and you're all set. As for the Dill Potato Skins, those are made using three Tomato, two Kennebec Potato and three Dill bushels each. Finishing this final Challenge goal will give you 1,000 XP, a Tide Pool with Crabs and another 2,500 coins.

As I said before, the challenge with these three Bonus Challenges doesn't look to come from land or even the growing of so many crops. What will likely be the biggest factor is how far you've upgrade your Restaurant. As certain recipes are only available as you upgrade your Restaurant (which is, in itself only possibly by crafting plenty of dishes, very often), you might have to take some time to catch up before really being able to put these three Bonus Challenges to bed. I wish you luck if you're trying to complete them all.

What do you think of these Chapter 4 Bonus Challenges? Are they the hardest ones yet, even if they don't require you to expand your land, or are you ready to tackle everything they ask of you?

FarmVille Lighthouse Cove Chapter 2 Goals: Everything you need to know

Since Zynga has changed the layout of goals in FarmVille's newest Lighthouse Cove expansion, so that everyone is on the same page via quickly expiring goal series, you might be currently left with little to do (as the goals will disappear whether you've finished them or not). In order to make us all busy again, Zynga has launched a series of three new goals in the game which bring us to Chapter 2 in the overall Lighthouse Cove story. This chapter contains more of the same in terms of tasks. You'll need to collect some items, plant some crops and so on, so nothing should be overly difficult. You'll have a week to finish these three goals, so let's get started.

Get a Moove On

    * Collect 3 Cow Treats
    * Harvest 55 Hay
    * Harvest Lighthouse Cove

For this particular goal, it doesn't matter what level you've reached in the repair of your Lighthouse Cove, so long as you harvest it when it's "ready." Your opportunity comes around once per day (if you're routine in collecting from it), so at least you won't be too delayed if you've already harvested your Cove before these goals roll around to your account. As for the Cow Treats, they're earned though a general news post on your wall. Finishing this first goal gives you 100 XP, a River Otter and 5,000 coins.

A Leash on Life

    * Get 3 Cow Tethers
    * Harvest 55 Kennebec Potatoes
    * Improve the Cove to Level 2

If you've been working on repairing your Lighthouse Cove ever since you landed in the new farm, I would be incredibly surprised if you haven't already reached Level 2, but if not, here's our guide to upgrading so you can finish the task quickly. As for the Cow Tethers - you guessed it - they're earned through another general wall post. Complete this goal and you'll earn 200 XP, a Sailor Gnome and 2,500 coins.

A Spoonful of Sugar

    * Get 3 Sugar Cubes
    * Harvest 55 Butter & Sugar Corn
    * Make Creamed Corn Two Times

The Sugar Cubes are earned through one final news feed post on your wall, while the Creamed Corn is a recipe inside your Restaurant. A single Creamed Corn preparation requires three Butter & Sugar Corn bushels, along with three Tarragon bushels and a Pepper bushel. Finishing this final goal gives you 300 XP, a Black Gum Tree and 2,500 coins.

While the rewards for these goals may not be overly exciting, at least the goals themselves are relatively easy to match. We'll make sure to let you know when Chapter 3 of these goals releases, so keep checking back with us!

FarmVille Lighthouse Cove Chapter 2 Bonus Goals: Everything you need to know

If you thought the original Bonus Challenge goals in FarmVille's Lighthouse Cove were difficult, you may not be excited to hear that there is now a second set of goals that have also been given the "Bonus" treatment. These three goals appear alongside the goals from Chapter 2 in the Lighthouse Cove story. We'll tell you flat out - one goal requires you to expand your Lighthouse Cove farm, which is currently only available to do with Farm Cash. Keep that in mind when you decide whether or not to actively finish these goals.

Bonus Quest 4

    * Harvest Lighthouse Cove
    * Harvest 55 Tarragon
    * Complete 1 Orchard

While these tasks aren't incredibly difficult, they might be a bit time consuming depending on how big your Lighthouse Cove already is. That is, if you haven't already expanded your Lighthouse Cove, you won't be allowed to plant 55 crops at a time, so you'll need to do two plantings to reach the 55 total. If you finish this first Bonus Quest (the fourth overall for the farm - hence the name), you'll receive 500 XP, an Unwither, a Livestock Baby Animal and 2,500 coins.

Bonus Quest 5

    * Harvest 70 Darrow Blackberries
    * Make Blackberry Ice Cream Twice
    * Expand your farm to an Inlet Garden

Blackberry Ice Cream is available to craft inside your Restaurant, and requires three Darrow Blackberry, two Chandler Blueberry and three Strawberry bushels. To finish this particular task, you'll not only have to set the recipe to craft twice, but will also have to wait the six hour period for them to finish. As for the Inlet Garden, here's the task that I warned you of earlier. As of this writing, an Inlet Garden farm is only available for 40 Farm Cash, and that's after you go through the Coastal Patch farm that costs 30 Farm Cash. That is, if you're looking to complete this particular goal, you'll need to shell out 70 Farm Cash with no option for coin-spending instead. If you decide to go through with this goal, and can finish it, you'll receive 1,000 XP, a Speckled Alder tree and 5,000 coins.

Bonus Quest 6

    * Complete a Zoo
    * Harvest 70 Red Clover
    * Harvest 70 Chandler Blueberries

For this goal, the requirements are toned down a bit, at least in terms of the cost to your wallet. By the time you make it this far, you'll have the ability to plant more than the starting 35 plots of land on your farm, so the crop tasks will be easier by default. As for the Zoo, this is built using 30 ingredients that can gather from your friends. It's not an incredibly difficult building to complete, so check out our guide to doing so for details. If you can finish this final bonus goal for Chapter 2, you'll receive 500 XP, a Chimpanzee and 2,500 coins.

We've been told that additional goals will be launching in the game every week, so keep checking back with us as we'll bring you everything you need to know about the future Chapter 3 goals in Lighthouse Cove and beyond.

FarmVille Lighthouse Cove Come Ashore Goals: Everything you need to know

As part of today's launch of the Lighthouse Cove farm in FarmVille to every farmer that's interested (whether they paid for admittance or not), a new goal series has been launched in the game, allowing even those new players a chance to become acquainted with their new farm, while also earning prizes. There are six goals in this new series, and they're limited edition, being available for the next seven days (or just a week).

Come Ashore!

    * Get 3 Piles of Hay
    * Harvest 10 Chandler Blueberries
    * Improve the Cove to Level 1

You'll need to earn the Piles of Hay by asking your friends to send them to you. As for the Chandler Blueberries, they take eight hours to grow, so even though you're not required to grow very many, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be done with this one quickly. As for the Lighthouse Cove, you can repair it by collecting Logs, Stones and Steel Beams. For finishing this first goal, you'll receive 100 XP, the Restaurant, a Red Tractor and 2,500 coins. Hopefully you haven't already purchased a Restaurant for your new farm, as this will of course be worthless.

A Beach to Walk on

    * Get 6 Supply Boxes
    * Harvest 45 Darrow Blueberries
    * Place the Restaurant

Hopefully, if you are one of those users that placed the Restaurant before receiving these goals, it will automatically detect that it's present on your farm and complete this task for you. As for the Supply Boxes - you guessed it - just have your friends send you some. Darrow Blueberries, meanwhile, take just four hours to grow. Finish this goal and you'll receive 200 XP, a Sailor Cow (a cow in an adorable little sailor's hat and "tie"), a Yellow Seeder and 2,500 coins.

A Quick Tour

    * Harvest Lighthouse Cove
    * Complete 1 Wildlife Habitat
    * Make the Creamed Corn Recipe 1 Time

The Creamed Corn recipe is made inside the Restaurant, and it requires three Butter & Sugar Corn, three Tarragon and one Pepper Bushels. The Butter & Sugar Corn and Tarragon crops are new to the Lighthouse Cove farm, while you might already have some Pepper bushels on hand from your other farms. As for the Wildlife Habitat, you're given the frame of one for free when landing in the cove, and can then complete it by gathering Fence Posts, Shrubs and Grazing Grasses. Check out our complete guide to the Wildlife Habitat right here. Once you finish this third goal, you'll receive 300 XP, a White Cedar Tree, a Blue Harvester and 2,500 coins.

After finishing these first three goals, you will have walked away with a complete farm vehicle set (save for the Combine) that will allow you to complete all of the farming tasks required on your new farm. Of course, you can always purchase a Combine Chassis from the store for that three-in-one farming convenience, but at least you'll have these vehicles to rely on while you're waiting for the Vehicle Parts to pour in.

Zynga gives free rides to FarmVille Lighthouse Cove starting today

FarmVille Lighthouse Cove screen
Oh, you patient ones. Now is finally the time to see if waiting in the freebie line was worth it. For those FarmVille players that declined to fork up 55 Farm Cash ($10 USD, to be exact), the Lighthouse Cove expansion will be available to all starting today. We assume, as with all changes or major releases by Zynga, that this release will be a slow roll-out.

Just like players did early last week, they will hop on a sail boat to a New England-esque coastal farming village. Unfortunately, the area has been ravaged by a brutal storm, and Brenda--the town's resident widow--has enlisted you to help restore it. You'll slowly level up your Lighthouse by repairing the lighthouse, dock and more through quests.

However, free players will not receive the exclusive quests and items given to those who put up the dough. Regardless there looks to be a ton of content here with a larger focus on building a village than simply farming crops. For instance, you'll have fewer plots to farm on that unlock over time in Lighthouse Cove, though those crops yield far more coins, XP and Mastery.

In addition to farming, you can harvest the Cove once its restored for ingredients to use in Restaurant recipes like clams and lobster for dishes like New England Clam Chowder and Lobster Rolls. Another interesting change with FarmVille LC in comparison to its first expansion, English Countryside, is that all quests will be timed this time around.

And that includes the bonus quests, courtesy of Brenda. Because quests were persistent throughout FarmVille EC, it was easy for friends to speed ahead or slip behind one another in their progress. "It was harder for players to work on the same thing in English Countryside," FarmVille GM Nate Etter explains.

FarmVille Sailor CalfDuring an early look of the game, Etter told us that the team was going for "a FarmVille meets Martha's Vineyard style." "Players seem to love water, which was a major source of inspiration for Lighthouse Cove," Etter recalls. "I think we're constantly listening to players, [and] that will govern where FarmVille will go."

So, while you're enjoying the serene orange glow and brisk autumn breeze of Lighthouse Cove (imagination, people), try to think up where you would like to go next, and take it to the Facebook page or forums--they're all ears. As for why the second expansion was released early to players who paid Farm Cash, a Zynga representative told us, "We have so many passionate players, that we wanted to offer them a first look at the game."

Well, patience has its payoffs, my friends. Namely, it saves you money. So, enjoy that peace of mind, and increase that peace in FarmVille's Lighthouse Cove. Good things come to those who (choose to) wait--that's especially because we have a bevy of content to get you through your first several hours in FarmVille LC. Enjoy.

Did you pay to get into the FarmVille Lighthouse Cove Early? What do you think of all the new content so far? Sound off in the comments. 3 Comments
